Introduction to PlayerData Connect
PlayerData Connect lets you view live tactical and quantitative metrics while they are happening in session.
You can view full tactical and quantitative metrics while it's happening, using PlayerData Connect.
By using the mobile-connected Gateway in combination with EDGE units, customers can receive up-to-the-minute insights into performance during a game or training session.
How Does it Work?
You need at least one Connect Gateway to get started. One Gateway can connect up to 20 EDGE units.
The Gateway has a SIM card and connects to a cellular network. It then periodically requests GPS data from each EDGE unit on the field via Bluetooth and uploads it using its cellular connection. Once uploaded, our system calculates the metrics and updates the live session in the PlayerData app.
The data collected during a connected session is the same high-resolution GPS data previously collected after a standard session with EDGE sync. However, users will be able to see all metrics and positional maps update as the session is in progress, rather than via syncing post-session.
Getting Started
Ensure you set up a live session ahead of time in the PlayerData app. Before a session, set the gateway up at the side of the pitch (with the provided tripod), and then use the PlayerData EDGE units as normal. Once the live session starts, you will see metrics updating in-app.
